Kate & Jarred - The Old Church Concert Hall Wedding Videography
The Old Church Wedding Videography. Portland, Oregon
Kate and Jarred met while they were both studying at Harvard. Even thought they live in the north east, they decided to have their wedding where Kate had grown up in Portland, Oregon. The venue they picked was the amazing and historic Old Church which is located right in the heart of downtown.
The Old Church these days is primarily used as a concert venue. The rooms have outstanding acoustics and are incredibly beautiful which high ceilings, stand glass windows, and reflective wood services. All this made The Old Church the perfect place for Kate and Jarred to have their ceremony because in a lot of ways, their wedding was all about music.
Kate and Jarred invited 20 or so members of their Harvard school choir to preform at the end of the service and it was so moving. The choir was made all the better by singing in a truly top notch venue. The natural reverb made the performance other worldly. In addition to a choir there was also a pianist and violist preforming before the service started. They were so gifted and created a wonderful mood as everyone marched into the venue and found their place inside. I guess you gotta be pretty good to be in the Harvard music program.
After a really moving ceremony the wedding party migrated to The Aerie Resort. The resort was as musical as the ceremony. When guests arrived they were greeted with a seriously talented house band that got people on their feet instantly. When the bride and groom entered the venue the band ripped into a thumping version of "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" by Whitney Houston and people lost their minds. It was amazing to see such a large group of people go completely insane.
Eventually the band cooled the vibe and dinner and drinks were served. Afterwards a Smores food truck (how Portland) showed up out of nowhere and provided the wedding party with a much needed sugar injection. The band picked up the tempo and the night went on and on. A truly beautiful wedding.
